I’ve helped leaders in both Fortune 500 and startup companies develop unique narratives and stories.  Industries have included:  consumer technology, electric vehicles, renewable energy, workforce and workplace systems, privacy and cybersecurity. Some of the larger topic areas have included: sustainability and environmental impact, future of work, innovation practices, women in the workplace, smart environments, automation and AI, and opportunity inequality.

Thought Leadership – it’s the stories, perspectives, and opinions that go far beyond tauting your own company and products.  In order to be more than simply servicing a buzzword, an executive’s approach to thought leadership must be anchored in original ideas and insights – and not merely be a rehash or reflection of what others are saying.

Developing a thought leadership platform means thinking deeply about your individual beliefs, as well as the greater purpose of your company.  It’s about diving into issues other than just those effecting your immediate bottom line or industry.

If you’re a tech company where energy efficiency is something you deliver – address issues around sustainability and the link between data and energy as today’s economic power brokers.  If you’re a workforce or workplace software company – address the social, economic, and political drivers that now link a company’s ability to address both business productivity and opportunity inequality.  If you create design software – talk about the neuroscience of storytelling and be willing to take a controversial stance on emotional storytelling over pure data.
